Stop at Shiv Gufa, a naturally formed cave dedicated to Lord Shiva, followed by a visit to Baba Baukhnaag Devta Temple and the Brahmadev Mandir, both holding deep spiritual significance for devotees. Continue your drive via Brahmkhal, enjoying the panoramic views of the Garhwal Himalayas and the Yamunotri National Highway 134. After an early breakfast, drive from Barkot to Janki Chatti, the base point for the Yamunotri trek. From here, begin a 6 km trek (option of pony, palanquin, or palki available on direct payment) through scenic trails surrounded by lush green valleys, cascading waterfalls, and snow-clad peaks. On reaching the Yamunotri Temple, dedicated to Goddess Yamuna, offer prayers at this sacred shrine, which is one of the revered Char Dham temples. Don’t miss taking a dip in the Surya Kund, a hot water spring near the temple, believed to have healing properties. After darshan and some peaceful time in the divine surroundings, trek back down to Janki Chatti and drive back to Barkot. En route, enjoy mesmerizing views of terraced fields, mountain villages, and dense forests. On arrival in Guptkashi, check in to your hotel and relax after the journey.
